Becoming Catholic

We are so excited that you are looking to explore the fullness and beauty in the Catholic faith. Whether you are returning to the Catholic Church or are looking to start your faith journey as a Catholic, we are glad you are here! Below are a few resources to answer frequently asked questions.

If you have more questions consider Rite of Christian Initiation - more information can be found below. Additionally, Fr Adam Voisin is always happy to talk to you!

Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults

Perhaps you are…

• A baptized Catholic with very little religious formation?

• A Christian who was baptized and raised in a different denomination?

• Someone who has never been baptized?

The RCIA is an exploration of the essentials of the Catholic faith in a series of weekly meetings. It is an opportunity to ask those questions you have always had, and to explore your own faith and membership in the Church. RCIA is not a course with papers and marks. Rather, it is a weekly gathering with like-minded inquirers, parishioners and parish staff. It is an opportunity to learn more about God’s revelation in Jesus Christ and the life of the Church that Jesus founded.

Meetings will take place Wednesday evenings from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. We offer a version of RCIA tailored to children for those in Grade 3 or older who have not yet been baptized - Rite of Christian Initiation for Children (RCIC). For further information, or to register, please call Fr. Adam Voisin via the Parish Office.

Why Be Catholic and Not Just Christian?

The Catholic Church has a beautiful way of worshipping God and growing in our relationship with Him. But if all churches have that goal, what makes the Catholic Church different from churches of all the other Christian denominations? Check out this video that explains the main difference.

Why Should I Go To Mass?

Perhaps you have been wondering why going to Church is a necessary part of the Christian life and why you are invited to participate in the Mass. This is the way in which we worship and learn about God through the Liturgy of the Word, and receive Him in the Liturgy of the Eucharist. Check out this video that explains the importance of Catholic Mass!

What Should I Expect At Mass?

All are welcome to attend the Mass, so do not be intimidated to celebrate with Regina Mundi Parish! Do not worry if you do not know when to sit, stand or kneel, or are unsure of the responses. We have Bibles, and hymnals in the pews.

The Mass is a time for communal prayer, where we hear God's Word and receive Him in the Eucharist. Check out this video that explains each part of the Mass!
