Catechesis Classes for Children Who Missed a Sacrament of Initiation
Dear Teachers and Parents,
We are excited to announce that our parish will be offering catechesis classes for children who missed a Sacrament of Initiation (Baptism, First Holy Communion, or Confirmation). If a student in your classroom or your child needs to receive one of these important sacraments, please use this link to register by October 3, 2025: https://forms.office.com/r/mmi6L3tVcm
-
For those who may have missed Holy Communion (Grades 3-7, especially those preparing for Confirmation), classes will be offered in the Fall.
-
For those who have not yet been Baptized (Grades 2+, especially those preparing for First Holy Communion), classes will be offered in the Winter.
Adequate preparation and formation for these sacraments, but also the Christian life, is essential. The sacraments are not simply milestones, but they are profound encounters with the living God. Through Baptism, the Holy Eucharist, and Confirmation, we are fully initiated into the Catholic faith and strengthened to live as disciples of Christ.
Preparation for the sacraments is part of a partnership between home, school, and parish. The family, as the “domestic Church,” plays the most important role in forming a child’s faith. Therefore, it is the responsibility of parents to bring their children to Sunday Mass each week, where they will continue to grow in faith and experience the life of the Church. Teachers and parish catechists will assist with instruction and opportunities for spiritual growth, but parents’ faithful witness is indispensable.
We are grateful for the opportunity to accompany your children, families, and the school community!
Sincerely in Christ,
Robyn Aguila
