Mental Health Awareness Week | CWL

This week is Mental Health Awareness Week (May 3rd – 9th). There are many people, who struggle with mental health, anxiety, and depression, especially during these unprecedented times.

St. Dymphna, the patroness of mental health, is known for miracles concerning mental health, anxieties and general mental wellness and well-being. In a time, full of stress and anxiety, St. Dymphna can be a source of inspiration and devotion for us. Many have invoked her name and intercession for friends and family in need of healing from mental illness, as well as the stresses and anxieties of day-to-day living.

As disciples of Christ, we are called to be beckons of hope and to offer prayers to those who need it. As Catholics, and in our own time of need, we can turn our attention to the Saints, and through intercessory prayer, ask our Heavenly Father to bring strength and peace of mind to those suffering.

St. Dymphna Feast day is on May 15.

Good St. Dymphna, great wonder-worker in every affliction of mind and body, I humbly implore your powerful intercession with Jesus through Mary, the Health of the Sick, in my present need. (Mention it.) St. Dymphna, martyr of purity, patroness of those who suffer with nervous and mental afflictions, beloved child of Jesus and Mary, pray to Them for me and obtain my request.

St. Dymphna, pray for us.

Amen.
