will be celebrated on Sunday, July 26, 2026, close to the Feast of Saints Joachim and Anne, grandparents of Jesus.
The theme for this year is: “I will never forget you” (Is 49:15).
Let us take this opportunity to honour grandparents and the elderly, recognizing them as a blessing and an important part of our faith communities.
This day offers a wonderful opportunity for families to celebrate with their grandparents, elderly relatives, and neighbours. Parishes may wish to consider hosting a picnic lunch, parish barbecue, Sundae Sunday, or another gathering in honour of the day.
Thank you for considering ways to celebrate this special occasion and for helping to remind our elderly brothers and sisters that they are cherished and valued members of our communities.
